In case you hadn't heard our news, We are going to have a baby! Our Little Cupcake is due mid-November around the 14th.
I know a lot of people think we are crazy for announcing it so early, but when I was pregnant with Maddie there was no hiding it! I was crazy sick with her and I was in maternity clothes at 6 weeks. Yeah that's right 6 weeks. I popped pretty quick! Which is really funny cause one would have thought I was carrying either twins or a dinosaur, but nope she was a tiny peanut of 3 lbs! I only gained 30 lbs when it was all said and done.
We told Maddie and she was thrilled! All she could say was "I can't believe it!" She had been praying for a sibling for a long time. She of course has millions of questions which are so cute. She's spent a lot of time dreaming about becoming a big sister. She told us that she knew how the baby got there. Yeah, we held our breath and wondered what she had picked up. She said "Mommy ate too much! To many Tacos" Hee hee- That's it! So you all be careful and don't eat too many tacos. =)
Right now I feel fine. I forgot how tired being pregnant makes you! I peak about 1 and by 1:30 I am ready for a nap. I have pretty much fallen asleep every afternoon. So glad Darin gets home early! I've only felt a little nauseous but haven't thrown up. It hit me really bad with Maddie at 6 weeks and lasted about 8 long weeks. Hopefully all day sickness will pass me by this time around.
We are as all the celebs say "Over the Moon!" Keep us in your prayers for a happy and healthy 9 months!

2 Outta 3 Ain't Bad
What a day! My friend and I decided to go to see Jonas Brothers 3D. Alone. Yup, we left our girls at home. We weren't taking any chances of restless kids or potty breaks. We were there to see 3 good looking YOUNG men. Er, boys, er.. well 2 of them are legal anyway. Here's the thing- yeah they are young, but I figure they are pretty darn good role models for today's youngins, they are pretty talented and let's face it, they aren't too hard on the eyes. I might be old but I ain't dead.
Anyway, we had planned on going to see this the moment we heard about it. We thought about wearing shirts that read "Cougar" on them but figured with our luck the media would be there and we weren't ready to explain that one on the news.
We head up to the ticket window wondering if one of us should buy the 2 tickets so it looks like we brought a kid with us. I walk up first and say 1 for the Jonas Brothers. The kid at the window's look on his face was priceless! He looked at me like I was out of my friggin mind. I think he might have even said "really?" in disbelief. So I hand him my debit card and he looks at me and asks for ID. I told him it was my mom's card, he didn't buy it for a second and asked me again for my ID. He said thanks Emily and handed me my ticket. At least he didn't call me Ma'am or Mrs. M. S walks up to get her ticket and she whispers "1 for Jonas Brothers" good god it was funny! He didn't buy that it was her mom's credit card either. Good enough, we made it thru the ticket purchase with only a little humilation- then we go to the ticket taker and she gives us a look too!! I asked her not to rip my ticket. LOL So she only ripped a little piece. We see that they have a Jonas display set up so we take our pictures by it. Yeah, we were total dorks! Whatever. We walk into the theater and we are litterally the only ones there. The lights dim and we get a little giddy thinking that we might actually get to hold up our signs and yell "I Love You Joe!" without looking like pedophiles. KIDDING! In walks a mom and her 8 year old. I asked S if we looked 16 in the dark. One other mom and a couple of kids came in too. Damn. =)
I really enjoyed the show and it was an entertaining afternoon. Thanks for a Cougar-iffic Date S!!

Ready for Spring!
I am so ready for Spring! Enough of the icy cold mornings and having to scrape windows! I had planned on making cupcakes for a new friend who took Maddie and I to the Everett Children's Museum over the weekend, so when I found these fun liners at the store this morning I was thrilled! They inspirated me to think Spring! The cupcakes are a white cake with a hint of orange with a creamy orange buttercream frosting. The flowers are made out of royal icing. They really brighten up a grey day.

Darin survived the layoffs! WHOO HOOO!! In fact he got a glowing "report card" from his manager, who fought hard to get him into a higher position, he lost, but he tried!! Happy Friday!

I Wanna Go Too!
My friend is taking her girls for their first ever visit to Disneyland this week and I am so jealous! It's been nearly a year since our last Disney trip! Yes, I am going thru major with drawls! And since we here at Mang World are self-proclaimed Disney Experts, we have put together some of our favorite Disney Tips and Mang World Disney Rules. Yep, we have rules for Disney. Without further ado....
Act your Disney Age. What is your Disney age you may ask? Well it's simple take your real world age and add the numbers together. I am 32 but my Disney age is 5. 3+2=5
Eat a Mickey Bar at least once a day every day. There are no calories at Disney, besides you'll be walking a lot. They are especially good for breakfast. =)
Sing out loud and sing proud! Come on- you know the songs! Besides, when will you see any of the people around you again? If you are going with family, they already know you are crazy.
Make sure to see they characters! The lines may be long, but it is a MUST! Make sure to get a family photo, it's not just for kids! Some of our favorite family photos have our extended Disney family in them!
Give your kid $5 or $10 to spend on whatever they choose. Yeah, they may choose a shot glass or some silly pen or something you may think is ridiculous, it's ok! It's all about the memories!
Do your shopping early! Do NOT wait until the end of the day! Buy early and have them hold your package at the front of the park so you don't have to lug it around all day.
Buy Mickey Ears! Everyone has to have at least one pair of ears with their name on the back. I myself have several pairs.
Don't force your kids to have fun by playing the money card! Can't tell you how many times we have heard parents yell at their kids to have fun because this trip cost them a lot of money! Kids get overwhelmed and tired!
If that happens, this is the perfect time for that Mickey Bar or a beverage, find a quiet spot to regroup, do a little people watching and relax for a bit!
Talk to strangers in line! Some of our favorite memories are of the friends we made while standing in line. Like the family from Montana who by the time we got to the front of the line we were suddenly a party of 7. We spent a few hours with them that day.
And now for some rules. We have three major rules at Mang World.
1. You must ride every ride or see every attraction at least once. If you decide that you are scared or don't like it after the fact then it is your choice to not do it again. If I had skipped out on some of the rides I thought would scare me I would have missed out on some of my favorites!
2. Arms up as you go down! It just makes the ride that much more exciting! Especially Splash Mountain and Tower of Terror!
3. Most of all, live Disney through the eyes of a child. Even if you have done something a million times, experience it as if it were your first time. Take the cues from your children. Skip down Main Street holding hands. Admire the princesses in awe and remember how you once dreamed of being her- for this trip you are! People always ask us if we ever get tired of Disney or why we would go again after being so many times- this rule is why we go and never get tired of it! There is always something new to see and do!

What A Difference A Few Years Make
Ah, Super Bowl Sunday. It used to be a good excuse for me to head to the mall with all of the other estrogen, but I married a football junkie and some of the Super Bowl excitement has grown on me. I think it started with the Seahawks attending. I won't say playing in the Super Bowl cause the refs wouldn't let them play... but I digress.
Do you remember where you were Seahawks Superbowl Sunday? I will never forget it. Wait, let me set the story.... When the Seahawks won the division title I got to watch the fireworks up close. Nope not from the stadium, but from the 9th floor of Swedish Hospital which just happened to look out towards Quest Field. Darin was back in the hospital after his transplant with what they thought was an infection in his brain, if only we were so lucky. Poor guy was so excited to watch the playoff game but was so doped up on pain meds and antibiotics he missed the whole thing. I got to run to the window to see the fireworks. I wasn't really in a celebrating mood, so I prayed on the fireworks. Prayed that my husband would be well enough to watch the Superbowl. They send him home saying he is ok, only for him to have a massive siezure a couple of weeks later and send us via ambulence to the ICU. They discovered that he had 3 massive blood clots in his brain, which could ultimately kill him. (Thank you to the nurse who held me up as the doctor told me that news!) Which leads us back to superbowl Sunday. There we are in Neuro ICU. Darin has a tube from his groin up to his brain shooting massive blood thinners directly into the clots. He is strapped to the bed cause any movement can be fatal. He was mostly awake but he doesn't remember much about that time. I draped his Seahawks shirt over him on the bed so he at least looked like his was enjoying the game. The nurses were having their own superbowl party and invited me out to join them. Normally the ICU is a quiet place with only the beeping of the machines, not Super Bowl Sunday, people (nurses and visitors) were cheering and booing. It was actually quiet entertaining! Every TV was turned to the game whether the person was consious or not. I mean doctors and nurses were fans too and didn't want to miss anything!
I guess from that time on I looked at Super Bowl as a turning point. I remember how it was and how it could have been. How that Super Bowl could have been the last one we watched together. From now on, its Super Bowl parties for us! I don't really care who wins or loses, I'll eat too much and I'll enjoy the commercials, but most of all I will cherish the time that we get to spend together with friends. And hopefully win a little money in the process. =D

A Piece of Good News
I booked my very first paid Wedding Cake! I have been baking and decorating cakes for about 8 months now, I've always just made them for family. Darin's co-worker's daughter is getting married and orignially asked if I might be willing to make a small 6 inch cake for them to cut into during the reception. About a month ago, she asked him if I would be interested in making 200 cupcakes plus a tiered wedding cake! I said I would love to. I met with the Bride a couple of weeks ago, she saw some of my work and we sketched out a few designs. I let her know right off the bat that this was a hobby for me, I am not licensed and I do NOT do this professionally. She was ok with that. We left it at she would call me if she decided to have me make her cakes. I was just happy with the thought that someone thought I was capable of making a wedding cake! But she emailed me and said she wanted me to make her cakes! I am so excited! I'll be making 200 cupcakes and a 2 tier wedding cake + the possibility of making her groom's cake too! The wedding isn't until July, so I have plenty of time to practice and bake a lot. Hopefully I have friends and family who are willing to be my taste testers! Any volunteers? =)
